Warranty


VDT offer a 12 month warranty on rods, adaptors, sweeping heads, and rod bags. Whip line, chain and steel cable of the sweeping heads is not covered under warranty and deemed wear and tear items, unless proven otherwise.

Please be aware that rod breakages will be subject to inspection or photograph. Any rod that breaks due to a defect will be replaced, but if a rod is deemed damaged due to abuse and is self evidently twisted or cut on a sharp object, then this is deemed as non-warrantable.

A return to base policy is in place for all warranty claims and postage paid for by the purchaser or customer.

​​Your Right To Return Goods


The rights to return the goods to us as will not apply in the following circumstances: –
1. In the event that the product has been used.
2. Any products that we have made or customised specifically for you.

 

Returns, Refunds & Used Products Policy

1. Trade and professional use

Our products are designed and supplied for professional and trade use. By placing an order through this website, via the phone or email, you confirm that you are purchasing the goods for business, trade or professional purposes, unless you tell us otherwise before purchase.

 

2. No change-of-mind refunds for trade customers

For business, trade and professional customers, all sales are final once the order has been accepted and dispatched.

We do not offer refunds, credits or exchanges where:

  • the customer has changed their mind;

  • the wrong item has been ordered;

  • the item is no longer required;

  • the item has been opened, fitted, tested, marked, damaged or used;

  • the item is not suitable for the customer’s particular job, machine or application, unless we have confirmed suitability in writing before purchase.

This does not affect any rights you may have where the goods are defective, damaged on arrival, incorrectly supplied, or not as described.

 

3. Used products

Products that have been used, fitted, connected, altered, marked, contaminated, or damaged by the customer cannot be returned for a refund unless the product is defective.

A product will not be treated as defective simply because it has been used incorrectly, used for an unsuitable application, subjected to excessive force, poorly maintained, modified, or used contrary to our instructions, guidance or normal professional practice.

 

4. Defective or damaged goods

If you believe a product is defective, damaged on arrival, or incorrectly supplied, you must contact us as soon as possible with:

  • your order number;

  • a description of the issue;

  • photographs or video showing the problem;

  • details of how and where the product was used, if applicable.

We may ask for the item to be returned for inspection before any refund, replacement or repair is agreed.

Where we confirm that the product is defective, we may, depending on the circumstances and your legal rights, offer a repair, replacement, credit or refund.

 

5. Inspection and refusal of returns

Returned items will be inspected before any refund, replacement or credit is issued.

We reserve the right to refuse a return or reduce any refund where the item has been:

  • used beyond reasonable inspection;

  • damaged after delivery;

  • returned incomplete;

  • returned without original packaging, accessories, manuals or parts;

  • contaminated with soot, grease, chemicals, debris or other substances;

  • modified, misused or negligently handled.

For consumer purchases made online, we may make a deduction from any refund where handling or use has reduced the value of the goods, as permitted by law.

 

6. Return postage

Unless the item is confirmed by us to be defective, damaged on arrival or incorrectly supplied, the customer is responsible for return postage, insurance and safe packaging.

We are not responsible for returned goods that are lost or damaged in transit.

7. Consumer statutory rights

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

If you are buying as a consumer, you may have additional rights under UK consumer law, including cancellation rights for online purchases and rights where goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose. GOV.UK states that customers buying online must be told they can cancel up to 14 days after delivery, and faulty goods may need to be repaired, replaced or refunded depending on the circumstances.

Upon receipt of the goods we will give you a full refund of the amount paid or an exchange credit as required.
